Troika Ranch creates hybrid performances that unite dance, theater and new media. Our aim is to question the deepening entanglement between human beings and new technology.
Most of us rapidly invite the latest technological developments into our lives. Our bodies are changing because of this. Technology affects more than the way we move or hold ourself. Very often, it fundamentally shifts our experience of physical presence.
As artists, we do not automatically label this evolving relationship as good or bad. Instead, we integrate body and machine on stage in an effort to understand these shifts and how they effect the human condition.

Current Projects
Troika Ranch’s current project is an immersive performance/installation called SWARM.
SWARM breaks the boundaries between creator, performer and audience by requiring the audience to take an active, participatory role in the work’s composition.
From the moment the audience is invited to join the performers on stage, it becomes clear that the audience’s movements, both individually and collectively, are directly affecting the sonic score, the visual imagery, and the movement of the performers themselves. The audience becomes an author in SWARM. Only through coordination, conversation, and collective action will they unleash the work’s full potential.
Troika Ranch has been invited to develop SWARM during a 2 1/2 month long residency at College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. They will present a first version of the performance in mid November, 2015.
